Sadistic Mistress: Would You kindly tell us a little about your background and how you became involved in Domination?
Domina Mara: BDSM has always been peeking into my life since I was in college via birthday leather cuffs and invites to foot fetish events. I never pursued the lifestyle until after I got my first corporate job and experienced how my manager controlled and manipulated those under her to get what she wanted. I wanted more excitement in my life, an escape from the vanilla ladder-climbing dream job I got myself into, so I looked for BDSM clubs in Los Angeles Mistress and found a local dungeon that was hiring. I knew I had a Dominant personality and that was what I wanted to be, but since I had no personal experience, I had to start from the bottom. I was a natural. Within 6 months of learning the ropes and equipment, I quickly rose to a Switch. Three years as a professional player made me extremely versatile and I loved almost every aspect of it, until I stopped growing because of the House conditions. As of August 2016, it has been over a year being an independent pro-Domme: I have total control of who my clients are, I make my own schedule, I travel to major cities in the USA for this full-time job, and next, I am looking forward to expand internationally in another year or so.
Sadistic Mistress: What advise would you give to slaves who wish to serve you?
Domina Mara: Be courteous at all times: Manners go a long way. Read up on who I am and what I have to offer – each Domina is different in her own rite and my focus is on the specific transformation of the submissive and slave persona while bridging their acceptance of still having to live in the vanilla world. All written Introductions with proper grammar and details about your past experiences are a must, as well as previous references; otherwise, pre-paid calls will need to be scheduled and that is only if they are considered through their Introduction. All slaves begin their training as a submissive who tributes: Only over time of personal growth and earned trust will they be considered as a slave. I have various roles for slaves that are specific to skills I am in need for in the default world—applications will be given once I feel the time is right and if they have remained loyal during our time together.
Sadistic Mistress: Will you work from a script that someone brings to you when they meet with you?
Domina Mara: Usually, not. I have only done this once while at the dungeon I started at. I like my scenes to be organic and flow after feeling the energies in the room, including my own. If a brilliant scene is curated by someone I have a strong connection with, I will take the script into consideration and preface that I will add my own take on things. If custom video clips are the subject at hand, I do allow the client to make wardrobe/roleplay requests, use certain terms or pet-names, work with others I cast into the scene if it’s multiple people, as well as put submissives into suggested positions. I would rather collaborate than directly act from a script verbatim.
Sadistic Mistress: What are your favourite types of session?
Domina Mara: I adore inflicting pain as well as teasing: My combination of the two is quite intense and addicting. Domina Mara: I know Hudsy Hawn from my dungeon days, and visit her as she is well-integrated with Bar Sinister as well as management at Stockroom. The Lair, Sanctuary by LAX, Irongate Studios, and Fetish Factory are local Los Angeles dungeon venues that host parties from weekly to monthly themes. Perish is known for his Hollywood Love & Lust events that are around Hallmark holidays such as Valentine’s Day, Easter, Halloween, etc., and this was where I was fortunate to meet fetish producer and model Masuimi Max earlier in 2017. There are some underground parties that are Invite-Only, but again, I would like to expand my reach to different cities and countries and explore the local scenes there.
Sadistic Mistress: What do you prefer to wear during sessions and what do most subs prefer to see you wear?
Domina Mara: Most of my subs like me in casual wear, which is extremely easy for me. Although I truly appreciate the fact that my presence is what they are solely there for, I do have a lot of beautiful lingerie that I would love to wear as it is an aesthetic I honour in my field of work, and less clothing is more seductive while making me nimbler and more flexible while using implements. Since my casual attire includes mainly flat footwear, I would also like to dust off some sharp heels to give my muscles a nice natural lift. Perhaps when I finally visit London and tour Europe, this may be where I show this style off.
Sadistic Mistress: How would you describe your style of dominance?
Domina Mara: Firm but delicate. I have a strong masculine side to my energy that compliments my feminine side and together, they create a unique experience. Punishment will be given if my protocol orders are not followed. Some may see me as strict, but what I command is never impossible. Even with a corporal attitude, I have a very nurturing part of me that likes to care for my subs and slaves as well. I believe Dominance and submission is a two-way street: I have the control, but I also have the responsibility of the sub’s well-being, even if they tell me they have no-limitations. My eyes can read body language expertly and I know when something may be too much or not enough to handle. The experience I’ve collected has solidified my instincts and they have guided many towards complete satisfaction during and after play.
Sadistic Mistress: Do you also offer other services such as phone domination, email/online, training?
Domina Mara: Absolutely. I currently have various Niteflirt listings for different interests, as well as offer pre-paid phone or scheduled Skype sessions. Texting and email training have their own rates and one may request specific times and fetishes after passing the Introduction phase.
Sadistic Mistress: What are the things You most like and dislike in a slave?
Domina Mara: Adoration is nice validation, but loyalty is what earns my respect. There are so many Dommes in the world as BDSM becomes more and more accepted, that knowing those subs who are mine and mine alone make them more valuable to me. I definitely understand variety and some Dommes can fulfil fetishes others cannot; however, I would like to think that my subs are dedicated to me because I can complete them that leaves them hungry for only more time with me.
Per new players, I dislike topping from the bottom and those thinking they have experience when they have not taken the time to really get to know a Mistress or even play with someone who has been in the scene. All talk and no walk is a huge pet peeve of mine, whether that has to do with service, tribute, etc. Follow-thru makes me more attentive to you. Most subs and slaves have the common sense to act accordingly—unfortunately, there are less of the real thing on both Dominant and submissive sides. I know I am real, therefore, I look for similar qualities in a slave.
Sadistic Mistress: What song do you listen to that makes you feel strong?
Domina Mara: Titanium [David Guetta featuring Sia] has really empowering lyrics. A male created the beat while a female sings the song. Many remixes and covers do the song justice. It has strength, yet a sensitive side to being human. There is a beckoning to the edginess of life, and the song is telling the audience to come at the singer as well. Quite the juxtaposition to such a sweet melody.
Sadistic Mistress: What are Your favourite gifts from a slave?
Domina Mara: Many people like cash, but actual gifts are more personal to me. I have yet to receive a gift that is given out of the knowledge of who I am as a Mistress and who I am as a person. Most of the items I receive are from my Wishlists, dinner reimbursements, and complementary nail and/or spa days. Fine wining and dining as well as luxury hotels are always a delight to experience, but it still doesn’t say anything about the sub’s relationship with me or what I am to them specifically. Custom toys and implements are probably the closest thing I have come to own and always have a place in my heart and hands.
Sadistic Mistress: What advice would you give to a novice who has never visited a Mistress before?
Domina Mara: Always read up on the Mistress/es of interest. A real professional will have a website with their ideals, their fetishes, and any information that is pertinent for serving. If anything is not clear or defined, be proactive and introduce yourself respectfully and succinctly. I do not like repeating myself, so I find it quite annoying when I have to answer questions that are easily found on my website. I keep my social media up-to-date, I have means of accepting calls whether they are Q&A or Dominating, and I also own clip stores online to give a taste of the types of play I offer.
Sadistic Mistress: Would you ever session without a safe word?
Domina Mara: No. I have had requests of no-limits, but for their safety, I always have a default word that the sub knows about that they can use or an auditory or visual signal they can use to notify me if they are unable to speak. I have never had to stop a session or end a scene, but scissors are always close at hand, as well as methods of quick release if necessary.
Sadistic Mistress: Do You own any 24/7 slaves?
Domina Mara: Not currently. I have been offered plenty of times for personal use, but I am only looking to accept those who are willing to tribute for their training as well. I have financial submissives who are on a specific schedule, but they tribute remotely via email, text, social media, etc.
Sadistic Mistress: What about those slaves looking for a long term serious commitment of slavery to You. What would be Your requirements of such a slave?
Domina Mara: As I mentioned previously, they would need to start at the very bottom. Loyalty is a determining factor here as I do NOT accept slaves who are already serving another Mistress/Master. Tribute is due like everyone else, and over time, I will test their physical, mental, and emotional limits and their serving skills. If and when I believe they are ready, I will offer slave positions I believe they will flourish in. Then, I will provide an application that will serve as a contract. When accepted, they will be collared, owned, and possibly branded or tattooed. They will not live with me, but will be at my beck and call whenever I request, wherever I am in the world [within reason to their familial and financial statuses].
Sadistic Mistress: How do you make use of Social Media or is it something you don’t have time for?
Domina Mara: I am as much of an artist as I am a Domina. I am always striving to improve my artistry, just like when I hone my BDSM skills. Photography is a huge part of my work as I market myself to the best of my ability with how I would like to be perceived as both Domina and Artist. Instagram is where my photographs are mainly featured. It is a gallery that leads people to my website to purchase physical prints and also links to support my craft on Patreon. Twitter is a great application for immediate news, feelings, and physical statuses like where I am in the world at the moment. It is a place for selfies and quick thoughts as well as a place to notify those that I am available for calls, have new clips for sale, if I am in another city or on holiday with an updated schedule.
